My Doctor recommended CBD. Now what?

What is CBD?
Cannabidiol (CBD) seems to be all over the media, and you may have even seen it for sale online. So what is CBD anyway? How do I use it?
How is CBD (cannabidiol) from hemp different from marijuana?
CBD is the shortened term for cannabidiol. CBD is one of many naturally occurring phytocannabinoids present in the cannabis plant (which includes both medical marijuana and industrial hemp). In the plant world, industrial hemp and the medical marijuana plants are related like plant cousins. Humans have a system in our bodies called the endocannabinoid system. These phytocannabinoids present in cannabis such as CBD and THC among others, interact with our body's own endocannabinoid system. How does this happen? Our body's endocannabinoid system has receptors called CB1 and CB2, that can interact with the many phytocannabinods found in the cannabis plants.
What is Hemp Oil? Is that the same as CBD Oil?
Hemp oil is an oil from the Hemp plant, but it contains Omega 3,6 and 9. Some brands advertise the benefits of CBD for Hemp oil products when this is simply not the same product. It's confusing and unfortunate.
Will CBD get me high?
No. You may feel more relaxed, but this is not a high. THC is the part of the marijuana plant that has psychoactive effects and produces a "high."
Will the THC in a full spectrum CBD product get me high?
No. There are only legal amounts of trace THC in full spectrum hemp CBD products, and they will not make you high. Many Hemp CBD products contain no THC at all.
How much should I take and how often?
Many CBD products will have the serving sizes and directions listed right on the label for you. Should you have a question, you can ask your doctor for advice.
I would like to take a full spectrum CBD but I have a concern about drug testing.
No problem. Look for a Broad Spectrum that should have zero THC.
What products do I take for XYZ ailment, what amount of CBD and how often? The answer here will really lie in what works well for you. Fortunately, there are some great CBD products out there that are made under the highest standards of manufacturing. CBD that is made in an FDA registered, and certified GMP compliant facility is the gold standard. Bextera Nutrition manufactures all of their own brand of products including CBD this way, so you can be confident in the quality of these products.
How do I take CBD Oil?
This depends on the type of CBD oil products you choose. There are some great options! Here are some of the more popular ways patients take CBD products:
A cannabidiol, or CBD oil tincture comes in a dropper bottle, and you take it by mouth, adding a measured dropper full under the tongue. Not all CBD brands come with measured droppers so this is something to look for as well. Bextera Nutrition Tinctures have flexible dosing charts on the label, as well as measured droppers to help you figure out exactly what dose works for you.
CBD gummies are an easy and discreet way to get your daily CBD in on the go. You will find the CBD gummies taste very similar to candy so please keep out of reach of children. There is a difference in taste between the types of CBD gummies. The standard CBD gummy will taste more like candy vs a Full Spectrum CBD gummy that contains other plant terpenes from hemp (organic compounds) called phytocannabinoids as mentioned above. In a high quality true full spectrum so you may taste and even smell the Hemp (it's very similar in taste and smell to Marijuana). Some look for this smell and taste as a way to know it's good quality, others prefer to use the CBD that tastes better. It's a matter of what works for you and what your preference is.
CBD softgels are one of the most convenient ways for someone to take CBD oil.
Softgels are a great option to get your daily dose of CBD. CBD softgels are easy to swallow, and dissolve quickly.
